This is a tough call, because it depends on what your responsibilities at your financial institution are and what you do for a living. And, if you’re like most people, you don’t have excess time and money to attend many conferences. A conference is a larger investment than going to local un-conference –type events so think of a conference as going to numerous local events that are compressed into a three day period.
For the past few months I have told anybody I work with in bank marketing that they need to go to ABA Marketing Conference this year. The event is being held September 13-15 in San Antonio, TX. Airfare is reasonable and it’s a great city with lots to do during the evening so it’s a great opportunity to network and hear the latest bank marketing topics.
All the sessions are great and feature some of the most well-known folks in bank marketing. Like any conference though, the best interaction is during the breaks and dinners…with such a great line-up of folks on hand it’s hard not to get something out of it.
The only downside? Deciding between some really great sessions that end up being scheduled opposite of each other.
